Alloa opened strongly against visitors Stranraer, and in the opening minutes had the Stranraer defence under pressure with shots from Andy Brown and Stuart Callaghan saved by Andrew McCondichie.
Totally against the run of play Stranraer took the lead in the fourth minute when Alloa keeper Gary McGlynn failed to clear the ball cleanly just outside the penalty box. The ball fell to Stranraer's David Graham who cheekily knocked the ball through the keeper's legs, rounded him and tapped it into the empty net.
Graham scored a second goal in the 39th minute. Alloa's Michael Daly reduced the arrears for the home side after 86 minutes, but Stranraer held on.
